On Thursday, the Easter Bunny visited WGES traveling with the Sail On And Read cart! A special shout-out to our PTO for organizing a school-wide scavenger hunt for each student to locate a plastic chick. The WGES Sail On And Read cart made it's first appearance today! Students that met their individual reading goal for the week earned a visit with the cart. Classrooms that reached their classroom goal placed a fish on the bulletin board! We are hooked on reading at WGES! #SOARLakeHawks #WGProud

Sail On And Read! WGES is excited to kick off our "Being Hooked on a Book" reading initiative on Monday with a school-wide pep rally! Grade levels are assigned a color for the month-long challenge. Students are encouraged to wear their grade level color on Monday!

Today, WGES 4th-6th grade students participated in classroom lessons with School Resource Officers from across the state. The officers have been attending the New York State DARE Officer's Association certification training at the Montour Falls Fire Department. DARE is an international K-12 curriculum that is delivered to students in schools by Police Officers. Thank you for visiting WGES! #WGProud #SOARLakeHawks
