The Hall of Fame Committee is pleased to announce the Watkins Glen Athletic Hall of Fame Induction for 2023 Two coaches and four athletes will be inducted in the WG Athletic Hall of Fame this week during the finals of both the girls and boys Holiday Tournaments. On Thursday, December 28th during half time of the finals for the Melissa B. Wilson Tournament, the following individuals will be inducted at center court of the Fieldhouse. The approximate time will be 8 PM, if the tournament remains on schedule. INDUCTEES: Coach Jeff Smythe – Wrestling and Football (1967-1978) Alexis Castellaneta – Swimming and Diving (2018 Graduate) Patrick Hazlitt- Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field (2017 Graduate) On Saturday, December 30th during half time of the finals for the Boys Holiday Tournament, the following individuals will be inducted at center court of the fieldhouse. The approximate time will be 6:00 PM, if the tournament remains on schedule. INDUCTEES: Coach John Fazzary – Basketball, Cross County, Golf, Tennis (1989-2022) Courtney Warren-Manning – Swimming, Basketball, Track and Field (2006 Graduate) Matthew Gill – Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field (2014 Graduate) **Hall of Fame nominations can be taken at any time. As a reminder the Watkins Glen Central School District will be closed from 12.21.23 through 1.1.24. We will return to school on 1.2.24. With the exception of our previously scheduled sporting events, all office will be closed for the duration of the holiday break. #WGProud
The WGHS Fitness Center will be open during the Holiday Break!
The WGHS pool facility will be closed during the Holiday Break.
There will be No Morning lap swim, evening or Saturday community open swim.

Wednesday evening the Watkins Glen High School 9-12th grades put on a wonderful Winter Concert. Showcasing the musical talents of Watkins Glen high school students orchestrated by their Band & Chorus teachers, Kathleen O'Connor & Kelsey Pinette. The Fine Arts program also showcased student artwork in the Auditorium Lobby for all to see, put on by the high school Art teachers, Dawn Coleman & Maggie Hackett. On Friday 12.15.23, the WG Lake Hawk boys basketball program will take on the Cardinals of Newark Valley. We ask that all those in attendance wear red in solidarity and support of the Waverly School Community as they experience terrible loss and tragedy. All donations collected at the door will be dispersed to the impacted families.
