Tonight is the Grand opening for the first nights performance of "The Lion King Junior" presented by The Lake Country Players! Doors open at 6:30 pm Showtime starts at 7:00 pm Spectators are recommended to park in the District and field house parking lots for the event and easiest access to the auditorium. Handicap accessible ramp towards the field house bus loop (this will be marked) Overflow parking will be available at Glen Copack next to the high school. Cash or Checks for tickets sales ONLY! No credit cards We hope to see the house packed for this 4 day showing Friday & Saturday 7-9pm Sunday 2-4pm Come and enjoy the Circle of Life!

Congratulations to Varsity Girls Track Junior, Natalee Oliver for placing 7th in yesterday State Qualifier meet for the 800m run. Natalee also BROKE her 2nd School Record yesterday in the 800m event, grasping another goal she has had her sights all this season. With a new time of 2:26.19 will now replace the 18-year-old record set by Somer Pettet in 2007 with a time of 2:27.70 Way to go Natalee and best wishes to the rest of the Varsity track squad today as they head back to Union-Endicott for Day #2 of State Qualifiers. Congratulations and a HUGE Dub-G Shout Out to Varsity Lacrosse coach Geoff Crossley! Coach Crossley has been selected by Section IV as 2025 USA Lacrosse "Coach of the Year" This year Coach Crossley lead the newly combined team of Notre Dame & Watkins Glen athletes, taking the field with a new outlook. Their spring season had many successes as a team as well as many individual career milestones and accomplishments. The team ended the season in the first round Section IV Class D opener with a loss to Seton Catholic. WG/ND team was seeded 5th and ended the season with 6 wins and 10 losses!

Congratulations to this year's student athlete recipients of The Odessa File's 5th annual Tribute 24 Awards 12 students from each school for Watkins Glen and Odessa-Montour high schools were selected by administration, coaches and teachers for this award. The awards are given to the honorees based on academics, athletics, citizenship, leadership and character, spotlighting some of Schuyler County's best and brightest 9th through 12th graders! The WGCSD Athletic Department is #WGProud to say that we have earned the NYSPHSAA School Of Distinction Award for the 2024-2025 school year! What this means that 100% of our Varsity sports teams for this school year have had a combined team GPA of 90% or higher during their sports season. 75% of the teams' averages are used to determine their teams GPA! Congratulations to Varsity Girls Track member, Natalee Oliver! Yesterday at the Varsity Track & Field Sectional Championship in Oneonta, Natalee reached one of her season goals and broke the 1500m run school record, held since 2016 by Maggie Bond with of new time of 5:05.24 shaving off 1.26 seconds from Maggie's time. Natalee grabbed 2nd place in this event. Natalee also place as the second place in the 800m, yet another event that she has her sights on to break this season! #WGPROUD #SECTIONIVCHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to Storm's Freshman Softball Pitcher, Paige Ells, who has just pushed over her 300th career strikeout at the Second Round Sectional game against Lansing this past Tuesday evening. This year alone, Paige has had a staggering 167 strikeouts! Tonight, the girls will be hosting T.A.E. at 4:30 pm on the Watkins Glen Softball Field for the Sectional Semi-Final Rounds Come cheer on our Storm Ladies to VICTORY tonight!
