Good Evening WG Families and School Community,
As you probably know, tomorrow morning is forecasted to be extremely cold once again, with wind chills ranging from -15 to -20 degrees.
In response, the district will implement our Extreme Cold Weather Protocol to support the safety of our students who bus or walk to school.
Bus riders are encouraged to wait indoors until their bus arrives and then come out promptly.
Student walkers should know that school buses traveling through town will offer rides along main streets whenever possible.
If your child will be outside for any extended period, please ensure they are dressed appropriately for the conditions, including warm coats, hats, gloves, and other cold-weather gear.
For additional guidance on staying safe in extreme cold, please take a moment to review the infographic below/attached from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Thank you for your continued partnership and support in keeping our students safe during winter weather conditions. We appreciate your flexibility and care as we navigate the season together.
With respect and gratitude,
Kai D'Alleva, Superintendent of Schools

Hard work pays off.
