WG

Good Evening WG School Community:

As usual, I hope this message finds you well. I write to inform you that a decision has been reached regarding the Nassau County mask wearing appeal. A stay regarding the mask decision was granted temporarily. This means that the Nassau County order invalidating 10 NYCRR 2.60 is stayed, meaning that the mask regulation continues to be in effect. Masks remain mandatory in schools until the court can hear more arguments. It is also yet to be determined how this decision will impact School Districts outside of Nassau County.

You will see more on this topic over the next few days on both social and news media. As more information is shared with the District, I will be sure to share it with our school community. I am hopeful that we will have more to share prior to the weekend so we can process and communicate relevant information.

The actual statement from the New York State’s Commissioner of Education is below or at this link.
