Glen Gators & USTA Shine at the 2025 AAU Junior Olympics!
Last week, members of the Glen Gators swim team qualified for the 2025 AAU Junior Olympics held in Houston, TX. The swimming competitions were eventful over the past six days, showcasing incredible talent and determination.
Qualifiers included: Lyvia Burns, Lexi Emerson, Makenzie Fish, Hudson Westervelt, Markel Gullo, Griffin Adams, Thomas Vedder, Carson Thaete, and Grayson Robertson.
This past week, they joined forces with other qualifiers from Central New York to form United Southern Tier Aquatics (USTA). The meet, held at Cy-Fair Natatorium, was a huge success, featuring:

Congratulations to USTA, the Glen Gators, and a huge thank you to our coaching staff as we head into the interscholastic and fall club seasons for the 2025–2026 school year.

This weekend, the OM/WG Wrestling program hosted its 2nd annual summer camp, giving 55 local wrestlers a chance to sharpen their skills. Athletes from OM/WG, Ithaca, Penfield, and South Seneca trained hard over three days of intense sessions and fun competition.

Max Ricca and Cordelia Thompson represented Watkins Glen with precision and pride at the 2025 USA High School Clay Target Nationals, competing alongside 1,770 top shooters from across the country.
🔹 Competition Format: Each athlete fired two 50-round sessions, broken into four 25-round scores, totaling 100 rounds on qualifying day.
🏅 Max Ricca (Senior Graduate) delivered a strong 92/100, highlighted by a flawless 25 Straight round 🔥
🎖️ Cordelia Thompson (Junior) stunned with 97/100 in qualifying, securing her spot in Finals, where she racked up a final 95/100! She walked away with 4 awards for Straight Targets and ranked 16th among 290 female shooters, placing her in the top 9% nationwide 💃🔫
👏 Huge applause to our athletes, coaches, families, and community—this team storms ahead with talent, determination, and heart.

It reflects not only athletic excellence but also a strong commitment to academics. For every varsity team to have at least 75% of its athletes maintaining a 90% GPA or higher is truly impressive.
