Dear Parents and Caregivers,

 

Watkins Glen Elementary has an incredibly talented and adaptable staff! As a result, any placement will promote the growth and success of your child. Therefore, Watkins Glen Elementary School will not guarantee parent requests, but welcome input that will assist in the successful classroom placement of your child.

Teachers put forth a great deal of thought and consider many variables when placing students. Such variables taken into consideration include behaviors, academic growth, gender, class size, special needs, RTI needs, conflict between students, and student relationships.

Placement recommendations will be made to the building principal at the end of the 2020-2021 school year by students’ current grade level teaching team. Our goal is to create well balanced classrooms where teachers can fully support all students.

Families will be notified of their child’s class placement for the 2021-2022 school year by mail. Please do not call the school office to ask for this information, as we will not share it before the mailing.
