Good Afternoon WGCSD Families and Caregivers!

I hope you a had a great week! As we head into our first long weekend of the school year, I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for your continued support of our schools.

We know how frustrating and challenging it has been to deal with the required quarantines and absences related to the ongoing pandemic, and we know how much you value your child’s education. Please know that our teaching staff is working hard to keep Schoology (our learning management system) up to date so our absent students can stay current.

In an effort help you (our families) and your children stay connected and up to date, our Instructional Coach for Technology Integration, Mrs. Trish Ervay, will be hosting “Back to Schoology Night”. The event will be virtual and will be co-hosted by our IT Director, Mrs. Melanie Chandler. The event will take place on Wednesday October 12, 2021 at 6PM. You can register here! The event will be recorded and posted to our website if you cannot attend live. More information can be found here.

If you or your child is struggling to access materials on Schoology, please reach out to your child’s teacher as they can provide the most relevant and timely support. The easiest way to reach your child’s teacher(s) is to use the “staff” function on our district website, which can be located here.

Update: Though challenging, this week was better than last week. We are now nearing 30 positive cases District-Wide.

The NYS COVID School Report Card system is now working. The link to it can be found here. Click on “Public Schools”, type in “Watkins Glen”, and a list will drop down for you to select both building specific and district level data.

According to the CDC and local public health officials, proper mask wearing, and vaccination remain the two most significant strategies you can implement to limit quarantines and the further spread of infections.

Come work for us!!
